Steak in Garlic and Tomato Gravy

Steak cut thinly is very easy to cook, and is a very good last minute meal when you have unexpected guests. You could use a nice big piece of fillet steak though; it depends on your preference.

These steak pieces could be cut into strips as well and used in a salad too.

  • 6 pieces of lean beef steak
  • 4 garlic cloves sliced
  • 2tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 medium tin tomato puree
  • Salt
  • 1 dry red chili
  • 1tsp chili powder (optional)


Heat some oil about 4 tbsp, add the garlic and fry till light brown, add the lemon juice and chili.

Then add the steak one by one turning when one side is slightly browned.

Add the tomato puree, salt and chili powder.

Let it cook until the steak is tenderized.

Add a little water every time you feel it is going to stick to the pan.
