Onion Mustard Sauce

For your next cook out or luncheon table, don’t just settle for a bottle of mustard.

Instead, fill a small decorative bowl with onion mustard sauce, garnished with parsley. This sauce goes good with all hot dogs, hamburgers, sandwiches or anything else mustard is served with. Leftovers can be refrigerated.

Cooking time: 25 minutes
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Serves: 4-5

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion cut in half and sliced thin
  • ½ cup wine
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup whip cream
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Dash of salt
  • Parsley for garnish

Method

1. Over medium heat in skillet, heat butter and oil.

2. Add onions, and stir until onions are soft around 10 – 15 minutes.

3. Add wine, vinegar, and pepper.

4. Bring to boil and cook for 5 minutes, stirring to keep from burning.

5. Add cream, mustard and salt, mix well.

6. Pour in bowl, and sprinkle with parsley.

7. Keep Refrigerated.
