Microwave Broccoli

Broccoli is low in saturated fat and cholesterol. It is also packed with vitamins and fiber.

By freezing broccoli,the vitamins are retained. Then when you steam the broccoli in the microwave, you do not loose those vitamins and you gain time and energy. You can find frozen broccoli in the freezer section in your local market, or buy it fresh. With the right recipe you will have a easy, fast and tasty dish.

  • 2 cups frozen broccoli
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese


Place broccoli in microwave safe bowl.

Toss with water, olive oil, and garlic.

Cover with microwave safe plate. (Be careful when lifting plate, steam will be hot.)

Microwave for 5-6 minutes, stirring after the first 3 minutes.

Sprinkle with cheese, and serve.
