Fresh Avocado smoothie with yogurt

Avocado recipes are very nutritious for growing infants as it is a rich source of protein, carbohydrate and fat. Variety of weaning recipes could be prepared from avocado. Following recipe is a fruity smoothie made from fresh avocado, pineapple, banana and yogurt. Its a perfect weaning recipe for 10 months & older babies or even an excellent cooling dessert for adults to get relief in a tiring summer day. The recipe is very healthy and simple to prepare quickly at home anytime.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Fresh large avocado, well ripe
  • 2 cups fresh oranges
  • 2 cups fresh pineapple
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh Banana
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 cup fresh organic yogurt
  • Few ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup breast or infant formula milk ( optional)

Method:

Peel avocado and pineapple, slice them in small pieces.

Peel banana and slice it.

In a blender, combine fruits, orange juice, yogurt and honey and make a puree until turn smooth.

Add 2-3 ice cubes into the blender and again blend all the ingredients together.

Fruity smoothie is ready to serve. For babies, if you want to dilute the smoothie, add some breast or formula milk and mix well again using a hand blender.
