Rose Pana cotta with Strawberry & mint syrup

Panna cotta is incredibly easy to make, and if it takes you more than five minutes to put it together, you’re doing something wrong.

Panna cotta is an Italian dessert made by simmering together cream, milk and sugar, mixing this with gelatin, and letting it cool until set.

Silky, smooth is what it is! All time favorite.

For the Pana cotta

  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2tsp vanilla essence
  • 2 tbsp rose syrup
  • 5tsp gelatin powder
  • ¼ cup water


Mix the gelatin and water in a cup and set aside. Add milk, cream, and sugar in a saucepan until almost boiling, add the gelatin mixture.

When at boiling point, remove from stove, add the vanilla essence and rose syrup.

Pour in separate ramekins and when cool cover with cling film. Leave in fridge overnight. When done remove from ramekins on serving plate, drizzle with a little rose syrup, and decorate as desired.

For the Strawberry and mint syrup

Add 4 cut strawberries and about 3tbsp water, and 2 mints leaves chopped, cook in saucepan until only about 1/2tsp water is left. Remove from stove.
