The next time you want to enjoy your spaghetti without a lot of time, and a guilty conscience try making this recipe. By using whole grain or whole wheat pasta you will be cutting out extra calories, carbohydrates and sugar. Plus you’re adding fiber and vitamins to your meal. If you like to add a touch of sugar in your sauce, try adding a packet or two of Truvia, a natural sweetener made from the stevia plant.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 – 24 oz. jar of Prego Traditional Italian sauce
  • 1 box whole grain or whole wheat spaghetti pasta

Method

1. Cook pasta according to the instructions on the package.

2. While cooking, brown the beef using a fork to break it up, cook until all pink is gone.

3. Add sauce in with meat, and stir.

4. Simmer mixture for 5 minutes.

5. Drain pasta, add sauce, stir and serve.
