This Recipe is not only healthy, but also very quick and easy to prepare. You start with microwave rice that takes only a couple of minutes to prepare, and comes out the same as freshly made. You combine it with peas, and a few extras, and you have a great side dish. You can always adjust it to other ingredients, according to your taste.

  • 1- 10 oz. frozen package of Birdseye Steam Fresh Whole Grain Rice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ¾ cup chicken broth
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1- 15 oz. can of peas, drained


1. Combine olive oil, salt, pepper, chicken broth, and lemon juice in a medium size sauce pan, stir.

2. Add peas, gently stir.

3. Bring just to boil.

4. Microwave rice, according to instructions.

5. Pour rice into serving bowl.

6. Pour pea mixture over rice.

7. Gently stir. Brown Rice Side Dish is ready to serve.
