Grilled Chicken Kebabs with richness of Honey and Garlic

Chicken kebabs are one of the most popular chicken recipes worldwide. Kebabs are originated in Mughlai Cuisine in South Asia many centuries ago but now considered as international dish everywhere.

Lots of variations in flavors, ingredients and style of cooking have been made to Chicken Kebab recipes in different corners of world being influenced and inspired by regional taste and the amazing thing is, kebabs incorporate most of these flavors and variations very well into it.

The following recipe is ” Honey & Garlic rich grilled Chicken Kebabs” which is very easy to prepare anytime at home without any hassle and it is an excellent snack idea for small outdoor barbecue party or picnic with family and friends.


  • 6 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/3 tsp fresh ground pepper
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red chili
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4-5 small red onions
  • 2 red bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Butter
  • Bamboo skewers


Cut the chicken breast into 2 inch cubes pieces and set aside. Peel and cut the onions into 2 inch cubes. Similarly, clean and cut the red bell pepper into 2 inch cubes. In a mixing bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, black pepper, crushed red chili, pepper and garlic and prepare marinade by whisking all the ingredients together.

Reserve small quantity of marinade in a separate bowl. Now, put chicken pieces, red bell pepper and onions into the marinade and mix well. Cover the bowl and let the chicken and veggies marinate for at least 3 hours. Also, soak the wooden skewers in the water about an hour before grilling to avoid catching fire.

Put the grill at high heat and grease it lightly with the oil using brush. Meanwhile, drain the marinated chicken then thread the chicken, onion and red bell pepper pieces alternately on the skewer. Prepare all the skewers by threading chicken and veggies like same way. Put the skewers on the high heated grill.

If required, apply reserve marinade on the chicken, all the sides with a brush. after 7-8 minutes, apply some butter on the chicken using brush, flip them and again apply the butter on the other side. let the kebabs cook for another 10 minutes till the chicken juices appears by turning and buttering them frequently.

Yummy Chicken kebabs are ready to serve. Serve them along with favorite chutney or sauce.
